Olive and Iris Founder Sue Harragin completed her art foundation course at Exeter Art School, followed by a three-year degree course at Kingston University, studying fashion design. She then spent time in Florence and in Rome working in the fashion industry.
“As a fashion designer in my early years, working in the world of ‘high couture’ in Rome, I carried a love of texture and the unexpected into my designs, translating those early creative influences into beautiful clothes.”
Despite leaving the industry, her passion for textiles and beautiful clothes has always been an important part of her life. Having grown up on the edge of Dartmoor; a vast wilderness which has been the inspiration for much of her work from an early age, as well as spending extended periods of time in Tuscany, she founded Olive & Iris with the idea of combining the two, creating high quality artisanal cashmere.
